300: Rise of an Empire (2014)

Gorgo, queen of Sparta, tells the people about the Marathon battle, in which the Athenian commander Themistocles suddenly defeated the forces of the Persian king Darius, who landed on the coast of Greece. The hero killed the Persian king with his well-aimed shot, but spared his son Xerxes. The dying ruler bequeathed his son to abandon the war, he says: "Only the gods can defeat the Greeks." He tells Xerxes that his father challenged him and wanted to say that only God can conquer Greece.

He urges the heir to make a pilgrimage to the desert. The king finds himself in a cave, where he plunges into a pond with a strange liquid, after which his faith in his divine essence begins to grow and his appearance changes greatly. Returning, the king begins a war with Greece. His forces are moving towards Thermopylae. And now he is really ready to fight with his great effort and believes that the miraculous abilities will save humanity and other states will not want to tempt fate and attack them.
